Privacy Policy

This Policy sets out how user information is handled by videoconverter.tokyo (the "Service"), as follows.

1. Login and Account Creation via Google Account

The Service provides login and account creation using a Google account. When you use Google Sign-In, the following information is obtained from Google.

• Google account identifier (Subject ID)
• Email address
• Display name (account name)

When creating a new account, the username you enter is also stored in the database alongside this information.

This information is used solely to identify you and to keep you logged in.

2. Recording of Operation Logs

The Service records logs of user operations for service improvement, fraud prevention, and troubleshooting. The information recorded is as follows.

• IP address
• User-Agent (browser, OS, and similar information)
• Device information such as device type and screen width, time zone, and language settings
• Username, the type of operation (page view, login, video selection, conversion start, download, etc.) and the time of the operation
• Values of some input fields, such as the trim range and output size
• A hashed identifier issued solely to group related actions together (not the actual session ID used for login authentication)

We never record secrets such as passwords, OAuth authorization codes, or access tokens in the operation log. The identifier we log is a separate, log-only ID used to group related actions together — it is not the real session ID used for login.

We also never record video/audio content, video file names, or your Google password.

3. Handling of Video Data

Uploaded videos are temporarily stored on the server solely for trimming and resizing. Converted videos are temporarily stored for download purposes.

Uploaded and converted videos are, in principle, automatically deleted within 1 hour of creation. The Service does not make videos public to third parties or use them for any purpose other than processing.

4. Security

The Service takes reasonable security measures, but does not fully guarantee the safety of transmitted or stored data.

5. Third-Party Services Used

• Google OAuth 2.0 (login and account creation via Google account)

8. Data Retention and Account Deletion

Uploaded and converted videos are automatically deleted within about an hour of being created.

The operation log and contact-form submissions do not currently have an automatic deletion mechanism.
